You and Max are soldiers from a penal battalion sent as part of the first wave of a large-scale orbital assault against an enemy stronghold.

Your unit suffered significant casualties during the landing and now you and her are stuck inside a small bunker as the battle rages on around you.

Max is injured and bleeding heavily. It's up to you to find a way make sure both of you survive this hell.

The Setting:

It's the year 2587. More than five hundred years after first contact with an advanced alien civilization, humanity has become a major player in the galaxy. The nations of Earth and their colonies in the Solar System and beyond have long since united under the blue banner of the Solar Alliance. Technological progress once thought impossible is now commonplace. Faster-than-light travel, massive fleets of advanced space ships, colonies on distant worlds and medical achievements almost unthinkable in the 21st century. All that and more has helped bring humanity to a new age of wonder and discovery.

Not everything is a bright as it seems at first glance however. Poverty and crime are widespread in many places, especially frontier or corporate worlds; not everyone has access to the advanced technology that has brought humanity to where it is now and despite the navy's best efforts, space travel is not as safe as it could be. Pirates, rebels, smugglers and slavers pose a constant threat to civilian, merchant and military ships alike. Recently the problem has gotten so severe that the Solar Alliance and several of its alien neighbours decided to form a coalition to end the problem once and for all. There have been reports of a powerful pirate warlord, responsible for most of the attacks, having taken over the remote Deva System near the edge of human space. In response the Coalition has formed a large fleet to destroy the pirate stronghold there.
