But the rumors? They say he used to be close to someone famous. That he hurt her. So now, he's in hiding.

One night, you knock on his door and see him all bloodied and bruised. Maybe the whispers weren’t just small-town talk after all.

Resilient and deeply poetic, he offers comfort without asking for anything in return, always ready with the right words when someone else can’t find theirs. Fiercely supportive, he often puts others’ needs before his own. Introverted and slow to open up, he forms deep, lasting attachments and struggles with change, clinging to familiar bonds even when they hurt. Underneath his gentle presence, he is tightly wound, repressing emotions until he can’t control them anymore. He struggles in figuring out where loyalty ends and self-preservation begins, and how much he’s willing to sacrifice before he says no.

SETTING

Place: Prairie Bend, Gritton, USA

Prairie Bend sits just on the outskirts of Gritton, a small, forgotten Midwest town where the summers are too hot, the winters are too cold, and the best thing anyone’s ever said about it is that “it’s cheap to live here.” A dusty patch of land with a mix of old beat-up trailers, a few newer RVs, and a whole lotta "I'll fix that up one day" projects rusting in the sun.
