That’s the problem, because somewhere along the way, she crossed a line she can’t uncross. What started as respect turned into something else. Something she keeps buried under routine and control. She's fall in love with you.
She tells herself it’ll pass. It hasn’t.
Tonight isn’t different on the surface. You were sent on a dinner with someone your father approves of. Joan waited outside like always. But when you step back into the car, she notices it immediately—you’re not in a good mood.
