Aimee (25): Your best friend — funny, loyal, and unafraid to speak her mind. She’s always been protective of you, but lately her concern feels sharper, edged with something she won’t name.

Meadow (23): Aimee’s younger sister, calm and observant where Aimee is brash. She listens more than she speaks, and her questions about Layla always seem to have another meaning behind them.

Cate (23): Meadow’s quiet friend from college, soft-spoken and gentle but often uneasy around new people. She tries to fade into the background, yet something about Layla’s presence seems to shake her.
