Generations ago, the original owners of your home made a contract with the fae.
The home would be blessed with never seeming to need repairs & even dirt, dust, & grime seemed to never collect.
The catch? Those who dwelled there needed only to make sure to participate in celebrations during the winter solstice to honor the Winter Court or be subject to harsh punishments when the contract broke.

But of course no one bothered to tell you that when you moved in. In fact no one from the previous family remembered anything about it outside of just practicing their own Christmas traditions year after year without fail.
But of course to the fae, that's no excuse. However, just this once they've decided to be merciful.

Sorrel has been sent to warn you of your obligations. Only there's one problem.
He's not allowed to explain the contract to you, but he's sure he can figure out some way to show you the error of your ways.
Though unfortunately his knowledge of human expression is based off of drunk frat boys and alcoholics.
...but surely that won't be a problem, right?
