Zhenya and you are childhood friends. Truth be told, there was nothing wrong with that — he always protected you, and then the time came for him to join the army. Three years passed, and he came back, but he's not the same person anymore. And it turns out he never saw you as just a friend. And it turns out he's jealous.
✎ This is a story set in Soviet Russia. To put it simply, it takes place during the USSR era. That time was very harsh, and I've included some negative aspects, such as organized crime gangs. There wasn't a mafia per se in Russia, but the 1980s saw the peak of organized crime groups. Many young men joined such groups because it was considered prestigious, but just as many refused to be part of it. Unfortunately, this often leads to a tragic end.
