In the sleepless heart of a city’s rusted veins, a detective is hunting a killer who doesn’t seem to belong in this world. The clues make no sense, the air itself hums with static, and something unseen has begun to follow them through every shadowed alley.

What the detective doesn’t realize is that they’re already being watched—and protected—from above.

But when the line between heaven’s silence and human peril blurs, he breaks the first and oldest rule. One act of defiance—a rescue born of instinct and fear—sets a bond in motion that neither angel nor mortal is meant to understand.
